Telephone Conversation is quite essential. Communicative skills are very important. Communicating properly on the phone is especially important, as the person you are speaking to cannot see your facial movement or your body language. They rely completely on what you are saying, and how you are speaking, to understand you fully.
As well as speaking clearly when talking on the phone, it is vital to use the right level of formality. If you are too formal, people might find it difficult to feel comfortable when talking to you. If you are too informal, they might think you are being rude!
Importance of English – A Telephone Conversation

I’m fine. What are you doing, Monir?
Monir: I am reading an English language learning book.
Sakib: Why do you read it? You can read a Bengali novel instead of it.
Monir: Most probably you don’t know the importance of learning English at this present age. That’s why You can tell me so.
Sakib: Sorry. Would you please explain it to me?
Monir: Well, English is an international language. In every sphere of life we need English. To be a doctor, an engineer, a professor,a banker you must learn English.
Sakib: But learning English seems very difficult to me.
Monir: You’re right. I think the traditional method of learning English is not quite good in our country.
Sakib: Then how are you learning English?
Monir: I am learning English at an English learning centre near our school by some natives and foreign experts.
Sakib: Is English important only for our Exams?
Monir: No! I mean you cannot expect to build up a better life with a better career without the knowledge of English.
Sakib: Please elaborate.
Monir: You need English in every step of your life. To receive higher education, to get a good job, to work with computer and ultimately, to keep pace with the modern technological world you must have practical knowledge of English.
Sakib: Yes, that’s right. But I find this language very difficult to learn. Can’t I avoid it?
Sakib: Then, would you please help me to have same opportunity at your English Learning Centre?
Monir: Of course. I’ll take you there and do everything in this regard.
Sakib: Thank you Monir. I’ll see you tomorrow.
Monir: You’re most welcome.
